#MathArtChallenge Day 49: No tape/staple Sketchbook

The Challenge: Make yourself a MathArtChallenge sketchbook

Materials Needed: Paper (10 or so sheets), scissors.
Math concepts you could explore with this challenge: topology

Here is me constructing mine. I used 5 pages of blank paper, and 5 of dot paper (which was helpful while I worked on tomorrow’s challenge!)

Depending on how you use this activity, you may engage with different mathematical standards. I’ve listed possible connected math content above. Here are a few suggestions for how you might integrate the 8 mathematical practices. Feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments!

5.) Use appropriate tools strategically. What kinds of paper might make the book most useful to you?

6.) Attend to precision. Is there a necessary size of cut in this? Could other cuts also be successful? Why or why not?
